Animated adaptation of Hugo Ball’s Karawane

I’m an illustrator, and animation film maker from hungary. I made this animated short as a graduation project at Illyés Academy, Hungary. It’s a digital collage animation. Art brut, avantgarde, and the new aesthetics of the 20th century was a huge inspiration during the working process, and so was Monty Python’s Flying Circus, and all the Terry Gilliam stuff. The narrator was no other, than Miklos Galla, famous hungarian comedian, and “the hungarian Monty Python guy”.

I wanted to create an animated short without character animation, something abstract, something fun, yet serious.

The film was official selection at the 4th edition of Primanima World Festival of First Animations in 2015, and also short of the day at Cartoon Brew.

Hope you’ll enjoy it!
