Architecture To Me

Drawing and sketching has always been a tool of understanding and observation.

I’ve always found sketches and studies more explanatory, rather intimate, truthful and engaging. To me it tells more about the subject, artists personality and he(s)r view. It brings the artist to the ordinary human level and engages the viewer into a private conversation… so I thought….
…why not!…
…why wouldn’t I tell the whole story?… why wouldn’t I show them all I think of the subject?… why wouldn’t I engage them into a provocative conversation, ask them questions and let them ask their own questions?…
…for me the process is more important…
…it’s the story behind the scenes that everybody is eager to know by nature and I think that’s beautiful.
Being an Architect by training sketching has been a thinking and communication tool for me and my drawing/sketching technique is rather architectural, layer-by-layer.
