My name is Brendon O’Farrell. I am an illustrator and portrait artist living in Hamilton, New Zealand. In 1984 I cycling and was run down by a drunk driver. I spent several months in 4 different hospitals. While in there my uncle who owned a pet shop gave me a book about tropical fish. I was obsessed with the beautiful colours the fish possessed. My life as an artist have grown since then. In 1986 I was stabbed in my left eye in art class. I have been blind in that eye since then. In 2010 I was diagnosed with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. Doctors say it was probably bought on by a blow to my head when I was 13.

The one constant in my life has been a feeling of isolation, a foreboding sense of doom and my art. These emotions can be seen in my earlier works.

Since becoming a father 6 years ago I have decided to devote more time to my art. Here is a sample of some of my work.
