My name is Biljana Veselinovic. I am a professional painter from Belgrade, Serbia.
I graduated from The Faculty of Fine Arts and The Faculty of Philology, both in Belgrade. I exhibited my work in France, Austria, Japan, Russia, Greece, Canada, UK and USA. I had four solo exhibitions and participated in over sixty group exhibitions in Serbia.
I am mostly interested in painting, drawing and photography. My main goal in art is to represent what I strongly believe in and what I feel. The work of art reveals hidden and significant sides of outer and inner nature. In their role on this world, artists are more open to obvious and less obvious, in order to say, show, or help something be comprehended in an indirect or direct way. I was searching for the inner rhythm that exists but is not seen in “reality”. The life of human beings can be perceived only in its elements shared by all, while the relations and emotions can be colour fields, like a painted encyclopedia map of human existence.
My art represents what is at the basis of reality. I paint the moment in time, while trying to slow the haste of the world, and bring out its essence. According to Plotin, a human being is in the middle between The One and substance, therefore our journey to The One is return to the real origin. When we long for beauty, we long for our origin, kindness and truth, for The One as the source of the being. I represent the basis of human beings, our origin, essence and future. Happiness and pain, failure and success, temporality and eternity, a moment and existence in time. A line of bringing together and setting apart is dominant. Basis and strength. Beauty is hidden, clear and omnipresent.
