My photographs are ‘instants’ absorbing the motion of light and contrasts. Animals, silhouettes and clouds are often vectors of animation in my work. Here, a black horse suddenly appears in a snowy landscape but will soon disappear, clouds and wind create a light show in the flat steppe, a black dog is moving behind a white cat who does not know it yet… Loneliness is reinforced by light, motion and contrasts. Black and white shapes are playing together, making the instant either realistic or dreamy. I took these photographs in Kyrgyzstan (2013) and Russia (2015) while travelling alone. I am inspired by the works of Hengki Koentjoro, Fan Ho, Manuel Alvarez Bravo. Travelling in the wild is my principal source of inspiration.
