CHARCOAL DRAWING | Roberto Matteazzi

(ENG) Roberto Matteazzi was born in Vicenza (Italy) in 1992. At an early age he developed a passion for drawing, enjoying the transformation of a simple sheet of paper into something more, into something that would find expression, exciting those who observed it. After graduating in 2011 from “G. De Fabris” in Nove (Italy), he decided to start working for his family’s business “Fucina Artistica Matteazzi”, as a blacksmith. An ancient artistic profession that his family has been in for generations. From the hammer, anvil, and iron to pencil and charcoal. Fascinated by black and white, Rob now tries to fascinate all those who observe his artwork. Some of his works are taken from photos and images found on the web and re-interpreted in a personal way, in black and white and with charcoal technique. Two of them were chosen to be included in “International Catalog of Contemporary Art Arteide 2015”: “Tenerezza” and “Lo specchio dell’anima”.

(ITA) Roberto Matteazzi nasce a Vicenza nel 1992. E’ un ragazzo con una grande passione per il disegno. Dalla più giovane età decide di trasformare un semplice pezzo di carta in qualcosa di più, in qualcosa che potesse trovare espressione, provando ad emozionare chiunque guardasse. Nel 2011, una volta diplomato al Liceo Artistico “G. De Fabris” di Nove (VI), decide di entrare a far parte della Fucina Artistica Matteazzi, l’attività che la sua famiglia tramanda da quattro generazioni, un antico mestiere affascinante e allo stesso tempo artistico: il fabbro. Così al martello, incudine e ferro si aggiunge la passione per la matita e soprattutto per il carboncino. Il bianco e nero diventa l’elemento primario per creare opere intense e sature di emozioni, le stesse che l’artista prova a far suscitare all’attento osservatore. Alcune di queste sono prese da foto e immagini provenienti dal web e re-interpretate in modo personale, in bianco e nero e con la tecnica del carboncino. Nel 2015 viene inserito nel “Catalogo Internazionale d’Arte Contemporanea Arteide 2015” con le opere “Tenerezza” e “Lo specchio dell’anima”.
