Charcoal portrait by Alla Dzyurich

I’ d like to tell you about a picture that I like very much. Portrait of Kristen Jaymes Stewart which made with charcoal, pastel chalk and graphite on wet paper.

The technique I used is called impasto – the manner of laying paint roughly and thickly on the surface. Such style was seen in most of my works. It made them expressive and lively. I think this picture is lyrical and poetic. Her captured my attention. You can see how I`m used the light and shade effects.
