Mila Vovk is a professional ceramic artist and a florist with 12 years of experience in floral design. She studyed and perfected her professional skills at the Russia University.
Mila relocated to the US in 2014 from Russian.
She creates the imprints of plants in her studio in Southern California. Mila makes decor accessories with imprints of plants. She captures the botanical image on different surfaces like plaster, сlay and porcelain. The plants are emerged into a clay mold and then they are removed, leaving a very detailed imprint. Her botanical castings are tactile sculptural and have amazing details.
Mila first encounter with imprints was when a 19-year-old she went to a ceramic art gallery in Russia.
She was fascinated and instantly drawn to this extraordinary technique that dates back to the 13-th century. When used this method to preserve and share information about rare plants.
