Dino illustrations | Konstantinos Tsanakas.
Those illustrations are trying to describe what is wrong with the world. In a minimalist, less is more – style, I’m trying not to give answers but to spot and point to the problem. The range of the illustrations is wide as it covers daily social, political and economical issues. One small part of them covers the all time struggle between mind and heart. There is no text in my illustrations as I want to speak only through the picture. That way I use all my visual talent to promote the idea. My favourite ideas are those that come where you don’t expect them. You see something on tv, you listen something on the radio and your brain goes “you got to twist that subject and re create it!”. That’s how it’s usually done during the day. The textures are also a favourite area of experimentation during my work. I never use the same techniques more than 6 months unless I find something that gives me everything I’m looking for. I try to treat each idea as a new special one. Just like when you meet someone and you want to discover that person and treat it in a unique way.
