DUST PAINTINGS by Rubi Bakal

Born 1981
Living and working in tel aviv ,israel

“I came to work with dust as a result of the questions, how to document memory,
how to deal with the past and how to represent the past in the present.
Over the last number of years, while mastering dust as a new artist’s medium, I have attempted to answer these questions.
The dust’s function is threefold: not only does it stand for a pigment used to ‘paint’ the artworks, it is actually tiny particles of the places themselves, and it’s very accumulation operates as a timepiece. Thus, with a single material I have defined location,
time & narrative.”  :       You can see much more on    http://www.rubibakal.com/index.html
