Flattened Cans with a history by Kim Alsbrooks
Kim Alsbrooks began paint historical portraits on crushed cans . Her series “My White Trash Family” was the outcome of prevailing ideology of class distinction frustration, which she decided to face by placing portraits of the past consumerist leftovers. The works are typically depicted from 17th to 18th century. Alsbrooks has painted more than 700 of these portraits over 12 years. Descriptions behind the portraits be found on her blog here.
