This painting represents the feelings of being centered and grounded. It shows the clarity and insight that one would get during their creative experience.
“Inner Stillness” is completely made of encaustic medium on masonite. In this painting I have made the pigments by using a recipe of damar resin, beeswax and raw pigments to create the vibrant colors. This mixture is kept at a constant temperature on a skillet so it stays in a molten state. Each brush stroke is then fused together with a heat source which then creates a smooth finish. When the painting is cooled, it is then buffed with a buffing wheel to create a high sheen.
This painting was featured in the encaustic exhibit “Wax and Blue” at the Morpho Gallery in Chicago,Il. 2013
