Hats for children’s story telling by Melita Kravat

I’m a graphic designer with a long-term work experience, particularly in book design.
The hats that I’m creating are the result of my work, as the Art manager in the Magic story-telling workshops, a creative educational program for children.
I began to create hats unexpectedly and spontaneously while preparing for one of the workshops. After that followed numerous hat creations that have become the outstanding feature of our workshops. I am creating them, I can say, almost from nothing. I use materials that are easily available from the environment, often from the forest, such as sticks, seeds, dried and fresh herbs, leaves, wires and paper, to name a few … Before then, I had never created hats, nor have I known anything about this craft.I feel the hats that I create from the depth of my heart and soul, and I approach them with great love and enthusiasm. I create them totaly immersed in them, breathing them in. So far, I created about hundred hats almost all on my head.
