Slawomir Golonko: sculptor, stage designer, performer ties the formal approach of his works with a minimalistic art.
His metal mesh installations are equally austere and monumental in form. All works emulate a human shape and refer to the “human condition”.
As stated in one of the exhibitions of the author, professor Tadeusz Lapinski stated: “ Golonko’s art is a story about what within us is fragile and weak, although it seems to us, that we are made of bronze”.
This is conceptual yet at the same time a touching story about a man.
Thematically, the artist’ s works expose a modern, 21 century appeal due to their dimensionally perfect qualities. Additionally the artist introduces elements of modern expression which are purely based on his own trademark.
The happenings involving burning of a human figure and the background of the surrounding environment gave the spectators a near-transparency experience. It was an invitation to analyse the relationship between themselves and the happening.
Slawomir Golonko is original in creating contemporary art work.
His works can be found in private collections in Poland and abroad.
