AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF ARTIST

Magdalena Scholle, neé Czubak, was born and educated in Poland. In 2010 she married an American, David Scholle, and they now live in US.  Before emigrating she worked as an assistant professor of Medieval Philosophy at the University of Warsaw in Poland.

The shedding of her academic world in Poland for a new American life led Magdalena to become an artist. During her lengthy search for a university position in Medieval Philosophy in the US, she began to draw and paint. As someone still new to the English language, she found easier expression in the visual parlance of art. With time, her focus changed to building a new career as an artist.

Her beginnings in art have brought some success, such as placing in a juried competitions at the North Carolina State Fair 2014 and 2015. With her painting, she feels she may have found a means to pursue philosophy through art, without the limitations of language.
