“Photography is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality.”
Alfred Stieglitz

Life is always overcoming.
Overcoming of chaos, destruction overcoming, overcoming of resistance of the environment. Life is overcoming of death, a nothingness.

One of the most difficult challenges in the photo – to create the image raised over a concrete subject of shooting and filled with figurativeness. Edward Weston, American photographer has told about it  in the best way: “This then: to photograph a rock, have it look like a rock, but be more than a rock.”

A series of photos “Overcoming”, if it is possible to call them photos,  was born from other series, “The Kiev night jazz” as attempt to create to the  image, bearing the generalized sense.
Files from “Jazz” have been processed in the Photoshop and each of final images is a  complex combination from 10 – 20 layers, separate graphic elements so as a result quite difficult to learn an initial image. At each work, however, there is a tension symbolizing continuous fight of dark and light forces.

That is why I have chosen as an epigraph to this cycle
The devil brings fear, but you can choose not to bow your knee to it. David said, “What time I am afraid, I will…trust…in You”  (Psalm 56:3)
