“With cities, it is as with dreams: everything imaginable can be dreamed, but even the most unexpected dream is a rebus that conceals a desire or, its reverse, a fear.

Cities, like dreams, are made of desires and fears, even if the thread of their discourse is secret, their rules are absurd, their perspectives deceitful, and everything conceals something else.

Artist from Paris with an architect formation, I use analog photo camera and video-projection to work on the perception of urban space and architecture.  http://jeremiedru.com/

My work is in the continuity of the researches of the artists of the new vision (as such as Moholy-Nagy or Piet Zwart in the 30’s), who considered the camera as an agent of improvement of our optical instrument, the eye. “Analog camera leads us to certainties that we can not perceive with our eye, that can not be observed but it can be revealed thanks to the photo camera”. The double exposure is a technique which allows the capture of a space moldable space-time. It consists in photographing several times on the same negative, and which allows to melt independent events from each other in a quite coherent.
