Joel Santos is an economist and a passionate professional travel photographer. He’s the author of seven books, including the best seller “Photography: Light, Exposure, Composition, Equipment” (in Portuguese) and “INDIA – The Color of Contrast” (English and Portuguese). He was the editor-in-chief of the Portuguese bestselling photo magazine “The World of Digital Photography” (2007 until 2010) and he’s a monthly columnist of the major Portuguese news magazine ‘VISÃO’. He’s a Canon Explorer for the EMEA region as a part of the Canon Ambassador Programme. His photographs have been used by National Geographic, IKEA, Microsoft, ABC Studios, among other internacional clients. He has won several national and international photography awards. He currently leads photography workshops and tours all over the world, having visited more than forty countries in order to find the best light and to photograph unique moments. He was a teacher at Dili’s Economics University in East-Timor (2004-2006).
