My name is Jasenko Đorđević and I am Bosnian artist.
Ever since my early days I started showing affection to artistic expression, especially in the area of miniatures. I would sit for hours and make little books whose pages were no larger than a few millimeters (0,1 inches). Every time I tried to push my limits and make the smallest possible work. I have also created an origami boat made out of a piece of paper of extremely small dimensions: 1,5×2,5 mm (0,06×0,09 in). The boat itself was even smaller: 1,7×0,7 mm (0,06×0,03 in). With this work I applied for an entry in the Guinness World Records book. Although the existence of a smaller paper boat was not registered, I received a negative response saying there was no category for my work?!
Since January 2010 I made pencil lead sculpures. My first sculpture wasn’t perfect, but it was the beginning of the new form of expression. I experimented with different types of pencils until I learned which types of pencils I can use to make sculptures.
Until now I have three solo exhibitions and participated in dozen exhibitions in my country (Bosnia and Herzegovina), as well as abroad (Germany and United Kingdom). My work can also be seen in Cumberland Pencil Museum (UK) where it is a permanent exhibition.
At the end of year 2013, I won two awards (the award for sculpture and Grand Prix) at the international miniature exhibition called “7th biennale of miniature art BiH”.
