MISREPRESENTATION OF SELF By Tanio Liotta
“Misrepresentation of self” is a Bow-ties series made of different kind of materials, from paper to pvc, cans or plastic polymers.
The aim is to create a relationship between the small characters and the background behind them.
Some of those ties are playing with images and scene of concrete reality, opposing to others, which are completely detached from everyday life, trying to reach the highest level of amazement, surprise and curiosity.
Misrepreentation of Self is a bow-tie project made in 2016 by the Italian artist Tanio Liotta (26 yo from Milan), already famous for his bow-ties, homage to his childhood spent in his grandfather’s tailor shop. He uses them as a canvas, building their shape with different techniques and materials, working on them in order to make small installations in which recreate imaginary worlds taken out from everyday stories, ancient memories and life emotions.
