My secret

Unable to express my fears, or emotions due to the negative social stigma associated with mental illness at the time of her death, I was forced to hold a lot in,  keeping our family secret.    No one outside our immediate family knew of the intimate details of my mother’s passing.  “My secret” is a very personal and retrospective self portrait series documenting the emotional roller coaster I went through after losing a parent to secret blindly searching for stability blood sky broken buried in burden catapult to heaven caught in the act cocooned exposed-22b failure to see the signs holding on to the past inner strength ready to bloom running from my reality
