Istanbul based artist Sila Guven studied Visual Arts at University of the Arts London. She creates Space paintings after NASA’s images.
Her artwork takes a critical view of Popular Science and cultural history issues. In her work, She is interested in cross-cultural interactions in populations. While She uses a variety of materials forms nature and processes in each project my methodology is consistent. The subject matter of each body of work determines the materials and the forms of the work.
Each project often consists of multiple works, often in a range of different history and mythology, grouped around specific themes and meanings. During research and production new areas of interest arise and lead to the next body of work. Generally, she is planing installations in exhibition spaces with her artworks.
She believes that as an artist she should create a bridge between science and art. She is following astronomical discoveries and paint them.
