One Angle Two Generations

THE PAIN OF LOSING SOMEONE DEARLY WAS A CLEANSING EXPERIENCE.

My name is Anna Karenina Glinoga and I’m a visual storyteller born in Metro Manila, Philippines. My frustrations and struggles make my imagination spark creation. Photography has always been my way of expressing my deepest feelings towards depression. When my father passed away two years ago, my grandmother inspired me to start a project that perfectly mirrors our shared experiences through photographs. You see, my grandmother and I have something in common. The men we loved most both battled cancer.

LIFE IS LIKE A CARNIVAL.

Childhood is a promise that is never kept but there will always be one moment when you want to go back to it – to experience the happiness of being carefree again, of being a child again and being taken cared of someone who loves you. We miss their hugs, kisses, we miss our lives with my dad & grandfather. Life is like a carnival. Colorful lights and a lot of rides. We had colorful lives with my dad & my grandfather. There were ups & downs in our lives but we truly enjoyed our rides with them.

THE PAIN OF LOSING SOMEONE DEARLY WAS A CLEANSING EXPERIENCE.

We had to throw some excess baggages and try to keep only some of the essentials. Life is a gift but like any gift we can‘t keep it forever. We can‘t keep them forever. We both experienced this and so we are trying not to cling anything anymore.
