Its tough to sustain an art practise when you are trying to survive.
The Sunlight, being a crucial element to on-site painting is often too harsh in the day or you may just be stuck at work, when its beautifully lit outside.
I recently made it a point to catch and paint the sunset everyday after work. Limited by what I can do with just a tiny bicycle, I abandoned drawing (with graphite) and painted straight-ahead; with watercolor to catch the last pocket of sunshine. Sunset is the most gentle of the day; It points at an angle, giving chroma, shadows and tones its last effort to illuminate forms.
