During my undergraduate years in college as a music student, I had enrolled in several art classes.  I was particularly inspired by the groundbreaking photographic work of Jerry Uelsmann.  His technique, which he called “Photosynthesis”, predated the existence of Photoshop by well over a decade.  Later, other photographers and artists have followed a similar path, most notably Thomas Barbey.  Everyday photographs are composited and blended, resulting in re-imagined surreal and dream-like scenes and landscapes.  All of these photographs are my own, representing various moments in my life, forged together in usually unlikely combinations.  The sense of time and place is lost, new worlds are forged, and in each case an entirely new narrative results.
