Ronit Baranga Creates Macabre Ceramic Tableware
Israeli ceramicist Ronit Baranga‘s “body of work” is Macabre. Sculpted from clay, realistic fingers and mouths lurk inside cups. You would be hesitant to use any of these for fear of being clawed.
The mouth is at least interesting in ceramic tableware as it can carry food and drink until it reaches your mouth. “I chose to deal with ‘mouth’ as a metaphoric connotation to a border gate,” says Baranga. “A border between the inner body and the external environment surrounding it.”
Ronit Baranga’s Macabre works blur the border between real and dream world.
