This is the work of Rosie Fossett, an illustration student studying at Falmouth University, UK. This interactive book layout is a unique way for children to sustain interest and engagement when reading. The project title and theme of “Digitopolis” is based on a world designed by Norton Juster in his book titled “The Phantom Tollbooth”, an imaginary world where numbers dominate literature. Rosie created various layers to her book to reveal the possibility of change; through application and dedication, Digitopolis finds colours it had never previously known, and letters become acknowledged once more.
This project was filmed by Jake McBride, keen to show the process of reading and engaging with Rosie’s unique book design and beautiful illustration style.
