The motive Town is very close to me. As a passionate pedestrian I know Berlin very well. I studied its facets in the last few years with a lot of joy before I now draw in black and white.
I am thrilled again to rediscover well-known motifs and to lend a bridge, a palace, an avenue or a rented house its own character and a certain mood.
The reduction to black and white helps to focus on the essentials and to visualize the balance between order and chaos, which is permanently in the big city.
This principle, which has proven itself in Berlin, I can apply it to other areas of the world. So I drew for example, New York and Lisbon.
