In Search of My Path By Miro Blaznik

Miro Blaznik is a retired architect and a self-taught artist. Since retirement he has dedicated his time exploring numerous artistic techniques and approaches with unique and recognizable personal style.

Artistic expression is for him a personal journey, a meeting point of inner and outer exploration. He is not interested or influenced by modern trends but rather remains true to his own distinguishing style.

He finds his inspirations in literature and traveling. His repertoire ranges from acrylic on canvas to painting with different shades of soil, from woodcuts  to collages made with textiles or textured papers, to the traditional watercolour paintings. Hence the title »In Search of My Path«. The strong features of his drawings are easily recognized. In the recent years, studying Chinese language and Asian philosophies has had a significant impact on his works. Asian and religion inspired artworks are dominant among the themes.

Interestingly, he never showed his art to the public. It was his daughter’s Masha initiative to introduce her father’s artworks to the world. They made an online display of his works and named it Brightwood Gallery. The name is derived from the historic name of her father’s birthplace, Lichtenwald.
