Spanish artist Sonia Alins Miguel created the surreal illustration series ‘Water women’ & ‘Into The water’.
Miguel’s two-part series of drawings show women floating in undefined and hidden fluid. Looking at her art works you literally become the observer. It feels like watching struggles for survival, and they are incapable of helping themselves and others from drowning. The naked ladies seems like actually swimming in a gray-blue fluids. This liquid, liminal space could signify dreams or feelings of unknown. On the faces of the sketched nudes you can recognize fear and agony. And, by the looks on their faces, this could be unwelcome or downright alarming.
