Splash, a moment in time

This is Splash, its turned from pine redwood.

The arm is made by laminating thin slips of pine and bending it until the glue goes off, its sanded down to 400 grit and finished in a sanding sealer shallac. It is 20 cm wide and stands 40 cm tall. Its supposed to show a freeze frame of some water dripping into more water at a constant time, that is why there is another drip at the top.

It was shaped using carving chisels, and it is supported with bicycle brake cable.

I always try to add some creative thought to my turnings and I have many pieces to show, so I hope this makes it on to this website, thank you , David Plumb
