My photography combines light, colour, shape, exposure and movement to create “photographic paintings” using my camera as both canvas and paintbrush.
Padstow harbour in Cornwall on a sunny Autumn day. I was concentrating on the colours of the boats and their reflections in the water of the harbour. Although I was getting some moderately interesting images, there was nothing grabbing me. I had been watching the seagulls stealing food from the tourists having their lunch on the benches in the sun when suddenly as I was about to take a picture I saw a seagull take flight from the corner of my eye. I panned the camera following the seagull as quickly as I could creating this intriguing photograph. I did not make any post exposure editing to this image.
