The ancient thermopolium that archaeologists unearthed in Pompeii late last year opens to the public.
the Thermopolium of Regio V, the ancient snack bar of Pompeii that was unearthed during recent excavations in an area of the ancient city which had never been investigated before, opens to the public, with special visits to the work sites of the House of Orion and the House with the Garden. The thermopoly of Regio V, one of the hot tables of Pompeii , with the image of the Nereid on horseback, already partially excavated in 2019, resurfaces in its entirety with other rich decorations of still lifes, findings of food remains, bones of animals and victims of the eruption.
The site is slated to open to the public in the spring of 2021 and is just one of the impressive discoveries in Pompeii during 2020. Watch the video below, which is in Italian, to see the excavation process. (via Pompeii sites )
