The great importance for the development of my way of working and my attitude towards painting had the studies at the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and my work as an art conservator. The broad study on art in general enabled me to create my own style. An ability to ‘read’ works of art in terms of technology as well as its form, and the experience in the field of conservation and restoration of works, became fundamental in stimulating my imagination and, above all, in shaping my painting technique.
I sometimes incline the elements of pop culture in my works, which is loosely connected with the iconography of the work itself. This way I want to lead the viewer into the deeper contemplation of the work.
Cause of my natural tendency to perfectionism, the medium of figurative painting turned out to be the one for me. The conventional satire is transformed into its more sophisticated form of a pastiche. There is no room for fortuity, every detail is treated with pietism. I allow myself to play with forms and themes in a very flexible way.
