TreeGIrl’s Intimate Portraits with Wild Nature

Photographer and arborist TreeGirl photographs herself and others intertwined nude with some of the most amazing trees in the world as an invitation to recover our ancient bond with wild nature–to rediscover trees as a sanctuary from the madness of our modern, civilized world, and to remind people that we are nature.

As a photographer of trees, I make pilgrimages around the world to meet individual trees that I have researched, mapped out and sought out in a kind of botanical treasure hunt. I place myself in the landscape to show that nature, in its inherent wildness, is where we belong— sometimes naked, sometimes vulnerable, in humility, with our shoes off and the wind blowing against our skin, ears open, listening to our lover, with all our heart and soul.

Imagine a world in which all humans recognized everything that is wild as an extension of ourselves?
