Alcohol Ink has it’s own mind, free flowing, not always easy to control.
Mitzi Lai, accomplished artist and teacher using this medium to created these vibrant color free flowing paintings to express her love of nature.
Her one-woman shows include Cleveland Botanic Garden; Jewish Community Ct., Cleveland, Ohio; Beck Culture Center, Lakewood, Ohio; Mather Gallery of Case Western University, Cleveland, Ohio; Chinese Arts Gallery in Houston, Texas. Invitational Exhibition include New England Fine Arts Institute’s National Exhibition in Boston; City Hall of Alhambra, Calif. and many other regional exhibitions. Invitational exhibitions recently include the international juried the Oil Painters of America Salon Exhibition 2013; Salon International 2010 at Greenhouse Gallery, San Antonio, Texas; 2010 at Springfield Museum of Art, Springfield, Ohio; 2009 at The Schumacher Gallery and High Road Gallery, Columbus, Ohio; Artists Archives of Western Reserve, Cleveland, Ohio; National Small Oil Painting 2008, 2012, at Kansas City and Best of Photography Annual by Photographer’s Forum Magazine 2008.
Her work is included in the 2012 “Strokes of Genius 4”, published by North Light Books.
Mitzi is an Artist-in-Residence for the Ohio Arts Council’s Arts Learning and member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Ohio Plein Air Society. She teaches classes and workshops at Cleveland Museum of Art as well as at her studio. Besides painting, giving workshop, lecturing, she is also a professional designer for dinner wares, fabric and other home furnishing products as well as greeting cards, paper products ….etc.
Mitzi paints whatever inspires her, from still life, floral, landscape, animals to portrait and human figures.
